On 6 October 2021, David Ownby, Professor at the Center of East Asian Studies and the History Department at the University of Montreal, talked about The Changing Intellectual Landscape in China.

Biao Xiang, Director of the Department ‘Anthropology of Economic Experimentation’ at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology in Halle, and Pulitzer Prize Winner Ian Johnson joined the talk and offer comments. The three scholars provided a stimulating debate on the intellectual landscape in China.
